The Mangana Palace and the Monastery of Christ Philanthropos are two separate historical sites located in Istanbul, Turkey. The Mangana Palace was the primary residence of the Byzantine emperors during the 11th and 12th centuries, and is considered one of the most important palaces in the city. It was destroyed by fire in 1203 and was later rebuilt, but much of the palace is now in ruins. The Monastery of Christ Philanthropos, also known as the Monastery of the Holy Saviour, is a Byzantine monastery located in the Fatih district of Istanbul. It was founded in the 10th century and was an important center of learning and scholarship in the Byzantine Empire. The monastery is now in ruins, but some of its walls and other architectural features still stand. Both the Mangana Palace and the Monastery of Christ Philanthropos are important historical sites in Istanbul and are popular tourist attractions.
