İstanbul’un Beşiktaş ilçesine bağlı Bebek semtinde, Boğaz’ın incisi gibi süzülen Hıdiva Yalısı, diğer adıyla Ali Paşa Yalısı, Osmanlı zarafetini ve mimari ustalığını yansıtan görkemli bir yapıdır. Günümüzde Mısır Arap Cumhuriyeti Başkonsolosluğu olarak kullanılan bu eşsiz yalı, tarihi zenginliklerle doludur ve Boğaz’ın büyüleyici atmosferiyle çevrilidir.
19. yüzyılda inşa edilen yalı, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun önde gelen isimlerinden Mısır Hidivi İsmail Paşa tarafından yaptırılmıştır. Kraliyet ailesinin yazlık konutu olarak tasarlanan yapı, Osmanlı estetiğini Tanzimat döneminde popüler olan Avrupa mimari tarzlarıyla birleştirmektedir. Geniş salonları, ince ahşap işlemeleri ve Boğaz’a açılan büyük pencereleri, yalının ihtişamını gözler önüne serer.
Ali Paşa Yalısı olarak da bilinen bu isim, Osmanlı’nın Mısır Valisi Mehmed Ali Paşa’ya atfen verilmiştir ve İstanbul ile Kahire arasındaki güçlü bağları simgeler. Zamanla kültürel ve diplomatik bir bağlantı noktası haline gelen yalı, bugün Mısır Konsolosluğu olarak hizmet vermektedir.
